Who doesn’t want to pack a hard punch?
In my opinion, whether you’re a world class boxer, a mother of a 3 year old kid, or you are a young kid, you want to be able to punch hard, right? Punching is probably the best way to defend yourself and hold your own if needed.

Since retiring from boxing in 2012 as an undefeated professional and Olympic bronze medalist, I’ve taught over 10,000 people how to punch (box) at the Box ’N Burn gyms, Los Angeles. I’ve also taught over 1000 personal trainers and fitness enthusiasts how to teach boxing to other people at our Box ’N Burn Academy Course which is held in Santa Monica, Austin, Denver, Chicago, Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix, San Jose (we’ll be adding more events soon).
Teaching people how to punch hard is pretty simple, but over the years I have noticed one of the hardest things for my clients to grasp, believe it or not, is how to breathe when boxing.
Instinctively people hold their breath, tense up and swing their arm, thinking that will make them punch hard, but actually it has the opposite effect. Doing all of that prevents them from punching hard, and in fact makes them slower, use more energy, and decreases the natural power behind the punch.
